The Club

Welcome to Archers of Bridlington & Burton Agnes

Based at Burton Agnes in the East Riding of Yorkshire, the club offers locals and visitors archery facilities.

Bridlington Archers have developed since being founded as a target club by Denis Walker in the mid 60’s, moving shooting grounds on several occasions.

The Club has been based at Burton Agnes since 1986. The Club changed its name in 2011 when we were fully integrated into the Burton Agnes Sports Club and are now known as Archers of Bridlington & Burton Agnes, also known as ABBA.

All members are expected to conform to the Archery GB code of conduct, dress code, rules of shooting and observe the archery code of etiquette. ABBA also has an alternative dress code which is black and red tops with plain black trousers.

Annual membership covers both outdoor and indoor shooting. It also entitles you to become a free social member of the Bridlington Belvedere Golf Club.

Members can shoot Recurve, Bare Bow, Compound and Longbow. Details of the different styles of bow are discussed elsewhere on this website.

Competitions

The club holds two open competitions every year. The ABBA DABBA DO for Longbows and the INDOOR PORTSMOUTH for Recurve, Longbow, Barebow and Compound bows.
